My Art
Each person possesses a vast inner world. It is there that I begin to explore, and through careful observation, I interpret what may exist within that realm and express it through my work. I believe that each of us reaffirms our existence and essence in moments of solitude, searching within our soul and heart—perhaps for the mystery of happiness, harmony, and the balance between the spiritual and the tangible. In this way, we grow stronger and ultimately find ourselves.
VISION
I express my emotions through vibrant colors. Color for me is fundamental, as it is ever-present and serves as a powerful means of conveying emotions, revealing overlooked spaces, and capturing the intensity of passion.
Life is filled with color, and we cannot ignore it or cease to appreciate it. Our lives are in a constant process of transformation, shifting masks or shedding skins according to the circumstances and the people with whom we interact and build relationships. This does not mean losing authenticity—quite the opposite. In some cases, these transformations may serve as a protective shield for our vulnerability, allowing us to navigate diverse emotional and social landscapes. At times, revealing our true nature without reservation can leave us exposed to emotional risks.
It is essential to preserve a pure and childlike spirit—one that allows us to dream, believe in our stories and fantasies, and find happiness in life’s simplest moments. It is the ability to remain in awe, to discover magic in the everyday, and in doing so, elevate our inner vibration while embracing gratitude, love, and joy—forces that can be truly transformative.

REFLEJOS INVITATIONS

ARTÍCLE - LA OVEJA NEGRA
From Wednesday, February 11 through Wednesday, March 4, Índigo Gallery (260 El Bosque Avenue, San Isidro) will delight visitors with “REFLEJOS,” an exhibition by acclaimed visual artist Frida Ugás, featuring works that immerse the public in art in both a magical and literal way. The gallery will be open Monday through Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is free.
On this occasion, Frida Ugás presents her enchanting mirrors—innovative contemporary artworks created through the artist’s imagination and experience. Throughout her artistic journey, she has continually invited viewers to become part of her world of color and dreams.
For this exhibition, the artist created a collection inspired by the idea of how a person, reflected through her mirrors, becomes part of the artwork itself—a reflection that envelops the body in art.

REFLEJANDONOS
Frida Ugás
The experience of observing a work of art creates an interaction between the viewer and the artist. We come into contact with the messages the artist offers us through the harmony of composition, rhythm, lines, colors, techniques, and materials employed—impressions and elements that reflect and define perspectives of the world through the artist’s eyes.
In her mirror-based artworks, Frida Ugás transcends this concept by also granting the viewer a central role. Through their own reflection, the spectator becomes an essential element of the work, actively interacting with it.
The artist invites us to peer into windows, passages, and viewpoints framed within colorful dreamlike settings born from her creativity, imagination, and artistic experience. In doing so, she encourages us to become part of the aesthetic essence of her creations by seeing ourselves reflected within them.
